The Uki-waza (Floating throw) is applied at the moment the opponent moves forward, and consists of destabilizing and throwing him while sacrificing your own posture.
From the natural posture, Tori (Player executing technique) aggressively pushes Uke (Player receiving opponent's attack) back. Feeling threatened, Uke attempts to evade the attack by stepping strongly forward. At the moment, Tori executes this Waza.
Just as Uke begins to move forward, Tori extends his elbow out from his side so that it is parallel to the floor and pulls Uke backward with his Hiki-te (Pulling hand) while lifting him with his Tsurite (Lifting hand).
With Uke then destabilized toward the front corner, Tori extends a leg, placing it against Uke advanced leg, and applies pressure to Uke leg. With his advance stopped, Uke becomes even more unstable.
Tori then topples Uke toward Tori Hiki-te (Pulling hand) side, turns his body to face that direction, and adopts a side sacrifice posture while pulling Uke along. At this time, Tori Hiki-te (Pulling hand) pulls Uke elbow strongly downward as if strike the floor with it, and his Tsurite (Lifting hand) (extended across Uke face) pushes Uke shoulder upward as Uke is thrown.
As he is thrown, Uke fixed foot describes a large circle as his body rotates.
